Forced into a sudden closure five weeks ago when the former publicans left the hotel, owner Stephen Danaher has been working tirelessly to get the venue back in order.
Now, the Skipton Street hotel is set to re-open its doors, but this time appealing to a more family-oriented crowd.
New manager Wayne Saunders said a new family-friendly era would dawn on the venue.
“The good thing is, we’re coming in with no history of the place,” Mr Saunders said.
“We will be looking to change the whole atmosphere to make it a family-friendly pub.
“We will be branding it as a family hotel and try to get back some of the patrons that used to come here.”
On the agenda is a new menu, with the kitchen due to open in about two weeks, as well as a new TAB.
A complete internal refurbishment has already taken place, with owner Mr Danaher hoping the pub would soon return to be one of the best in Ballarat.
“Going back about 15 years ago, this place did some of the finest pub meals in Ballarat,” he said. “We are hoping to get it back up there again.”
The pub also has a new phone number, 5332 0545.
