In a 117-78 victory against Ballarat, the home side made an early lead and increased the margin throughout the game to win all four rinks.
City Oval skipper Wayne Roberts said a consistent effort from the team lead to the winning performance.
“It was a really good win for the boys and it was really even across the whole side,” Roberts said.
“We bowled well right across the rinks, there were no passengers.
“We got a lead early and were quite well up after afternoon tea.
“That’s the first game of the year we have walked away with the 18 points. It really shows that we have evened up our rinks, it’s really pleasing.”
Roberts said Terry O’Farrell lead “brilliantly” to secure a 36-11 victory in the second rink.
Round 10 sealed a six-game winning streak for City Oval who have lost just one game this season.
“We went in confident, after beating them (Ballarat) in the first game at their place,” Roberts said.
“We thought if we played to our best we would put it right to them.”
With a 17-point lead on the ladder, Roberts is confident City Oval will contend the finals series.
“We are setting ourselves up for a one or two position, but we are not counting our chickens – its a very even comp,” he said.
“We don’t want to get ahead of ourselves, we will have a really tough game next week at Learmonth.”
