Matthews is ranked 21 in the Eureka Series after contesting the first three of four meets this season and said opening rounds in Moama, Geelong and Warrnambool had been tough.
But, with the World Series Sprintcars launching the same night in Adelaide, opportunities would open.
Matthews will look to build on a solid outing he had last in Warrnambool on November 30 in which he ranked sixth in the time trial and finished fourth in the A-main final.
Warrnambool had to cancel a major meet due to heavy rain at the weekend, which was to be round five of the Eureka Series, so drivers are fired up to get started again.
