Milder conditions are expected today, before the weather begins to warm up again for New Years Day.
We're expecting a sunny top of 23 degrees, with south to southeasterly winds reaching up to 15km to 20km per hour.
POLICE
Local police did not have anything to report overnight.
However in Melbourne, Victoria Police are preparing to saturate the CBD for New Years Eve celebrations tomorrow night. Uniform and plain-clothes police will patrol the city streets, with assistance of the water police, air wing patrol and highway patrol.
FIRE
Ballarat City Fire were called to a couple of incidents which involved people starting illegal fires overnight. Fire crews were called out to a property in Wendouree after receiving calls about smoke coming from a property.
But after inspecting the property, fire crews discovered the owners of the house were just having a BBQ.
They were given a brochure about fire safety.
The Country Fire Authority website reports that a small grass fire near Ararat has been contained. The fire, at Porters Bridge Rd in Tatyoon, was contained around 8.17pm last night.
AMBULANCE
Ambulance Victoria reported no incidents in Ballarat overnight.
