Burrumbeet the focus of national cycling scene for time trial titles

BURRUMBEET today becomes the focus of the Australian cycling community as the venue for national

 time trial titles.

The race against the clock marks the start of the five-day Cycling Australian Road National Championships.

WA's Luke Durbridge is chasing a third elite men's time trial title in a row, while Shara Gillow from Queensland is riding for a fourth consecutive elite women's title.

Today's schedule 

10.30am -  under-23 men

Noon - Elite/under-23 women

2.30pm - elite men

The championships continue tomorrow with criterirums in Sturt Street from 4.30pm


CENTRAL Highlands junior country week cricket has a rest day today.

The under-13 and under-15 competition resumes tomorrow with a full round of matches before Friday's matches.


Ballarat Greyhound Racing Club has a 10-race program at Morshead Park tonight, with the first event at 6.57pm.

The $7000 Sash'a Blend Grade % final, 545m, is the feature event, with heat winner Mid Air Crash considered the one to beat.
