The titles will be at Llanberris Athletic Centre over three days from Friday, January 24.
Run by Athletics Victoria, the meet opens with a night session.
HEAT IMPACTS VICTORIAN RACING
An earlier than usual start to the Wangaratta gallops today owing to the heatwave.
The first event is at 11am.
This brings forward the last event to 2.45pm.
Racing Victoria has an extensive heat policy.
It includes:
“RV routinely assesses the safety of racing in hot weather, and if the ambient temperature is forecast to 38 degrees celsius or higher on the day of racing at 4pm on the day before racing, serious consideration will be given to transferring or abandoning the race meeting.”
MEANWHILE, Greyhound Racing Victoria has transferred Friday’s twilight race meeting to a night timeslot owing to extreme heat.
Ballarat has a night greyhound meeting tomorrow and Ballarat and District Trotting Club races on Thursday night.
