Lance Justice suspended over tactics at Ballarat Pacing Cup

LEADING harness racing trainer/driver Lance Justice has been suspended for three weeks for his drive on ageing champion Smoken Up in last month’s Ballarat Pacing Cup.

Driver Matthew Craven, who came fifth on Keayang Cullen, successfully protested against Smoken Up, who was fourth past the post.

Stewards initially adjourned an inquiry into the incident.

Restrepo gave Smythes Creek trainer Emma Stewart one of the biggest thrills of her career by taking out the group 1 $175,000 event on January 25.

The five-year-old rated 1:56.8 to smash the previous record of 1:57.3 set by Stunin Cullen in 2011.
