The 2012 Stawell Gift winner stepped on several shards of broken glass when exiting a pool last Sunday and has since been unable to train for the Gift.
The cut did not require stitches.
Wiltshire said the foot had been progressing well since being assessed by doctors last Thursday.
“The foot is travelling fairly well, but I’m still not sure whether or not I’ll be running – as of right now I’m still 50-50,” he said
“I haven’t trained since Australia Day but I’m going to give it a real go (tomorrow) night and that will give me a fair indication of what kind of condition it’s in for Sunday.
“I’ve probably lost a little bit of fitness and it’s obviously had a bit of a negative impact on my training, but on the flip side it also means that my legs will be that little bit fresher.
“Making the final is the obvious goal of mine.”
