The bubble is the symbol that will be used to promote the McCallum Disability Services’ World Autism Awareness Day event, to be held at Lake Wendouree on April 2.
McCallum’s Manager of Community Connections Deb Watson said the event aimed to raise awareness of autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
“Through the symbol of bubbles and their many forms, McCallum is aiming to burst the bubble of autism and help the community better understand people on the spectrum,” Ms Watson said.
The event will start at 10.30am and will include bubble blowing competitions and workshops to create bubble wands from household objects.
Organisers encouraged community members to wear the colour blue on the day, as part of the international Go Blue movement, to form a human ribbon at Lake Wendouree.
