Returning home with the winning trophy was a source of pride too.
The band competed in the Victorian Pipe Band Championships at Haileybury in Keysborough, winning the grade 3 contest ahead of the City of Melbourne Pipe Band.
The drum corps also successfully defended its title that it won last year.
Band president Tim Bodey said 30 competing team members took part in the tightly contested event.
“The top two bands were separated by only four points,” he said.
Mr Bodey said bringing home the state trophy was the perfect lead up to to next month’s Australian and South Pacific Pipe Band Championships, which are set to be hosted over two days at Eureka Stadium on April 12 and 13.
