The stage show stars Australia's doyen of comedy Noeline Brown as the iconic Maggie Beare, as well as Darren Gilshenan, Shane Jacobson, Nicki Wendt and Robyn Arthur.
Multi award-winning actress and comedienne Noeline Brown said she was thrilled to be returning to the Comedy Theatre to play the much-loved role of Maggie.
"For the last few years I've been heavily involved with issues affecting our ageing community, so it's a timely honour to play such a beautifully-written character. Even if she does drive her family a little bit crazy!" she said.
The first television episodes of Mother and Son were first penned by Geoffrey Atherden in 1984, creating an instant classic and award-winning series.
The stage comedy will follow the story of Arthur who is at his wits end and desperate for some time away with his new girlfriend but needs to find someone to look after his mother. Even though Arthur's dentist brother Robert and his wife Liz claim they'd love to help, Liz has bigger fish to fry.
Mother and Son will be staged at the Comedy Theatre from July 18. For tickets, visit ticketmaster.com.au
