OLYMPIC DIVING MEDALLIST VISITS
OLYMPIC diving gold medallist Chantelle Newbery will be a special guest at a Ballarat Sportsmen's Club monthly dinner tonight.
She became Australia's first Olympic diving gold medallist in 80 years and first ever female diving gold medallist at Athens in 2004.
She won the 10-metre platform event and also took bronze in the women's synchronised 3m springboard at Athens.
Athens was one of three Olympic Games for Newbery, who also competed at Sydney in 2000 and Beijing in 2008.
Her visit to Ballarat coincides with the sportsmen's club annual swimming night, which will feature the presentation of the Mick O'Neill Swimming Award.
MAIDEN HEATS AT BALLARAT DOGS
BALLARAT Greyhound Racing Club features nine GRV Victorian Bonus Incentive Scheme maiden heats, 450m, on its program tonight.
The feature event on the 12-race program though is the Topcat Video (bitches) final, 450m.
