While some athletes prime their bodies for the 2014 Stawell Gift, others are making the final touches to their outfits for the Fashions on the Field.
Dressed in the jazziest autumn fashions, ladies will enter the event in the hope of taking home the $1000 cash prize for best dressed at Australia’s most prestigious carnival event on Saturday.
Ballarat Power FM radio host Jules Zass will MC the catwalk event and said she was excited to see the designs.
“I hear lots of colour. Classic monochrome colours will be there, digital prints and hopefully a lot of millinery,” she said.
“It’ll be great to see autumn fashion with gloves and coats.”
Ms Zass – a keen long-distance runner – hosted the 2013 Ballarat Cup Fashions on the Field.
“From what I see it’s going to be a similar set up to the Ballarat Cup,” she said.
“I love seeing the outfits and getting ideas for the Melbourne races.”
The Fashions on the Field event will be judged by record-breaking Australian sprinter Melissa Breen, Ballarat milliner Cecily Davis and veteran designer Monique Crawford.
