BRT told The Courier last month it had been in talks with Ironman Asia Pacific for a race, like to be a half-ironman.
Overnight, reigning national road cycling champion Simon Gerrans became the first Australian to win the Liege-Bastogne-Liege race in Belgium.
Gerrans produced a repeat performance of his thrilling win in Buninyong earlier this year - the Orica-GreenEDGE rider outclassed decorated rivals with his speed at the end. This time, instead of Cadel Evans, Gerrans edged out Spanish Fleche Wallonne winner Alejandro Valverde with Poland’s Michal Kwiatkowski third.
Meanwhile, it is a big week in soccer ahead with a race to get the Ballarat Regional Soccer Facility ready for Ballarat Red Devils' homecoming.
The Reds are set to host South Melbourne in their first home game in the inaugural National Premier League Victoria season.
