Robert Bartley, 42, appeared in Ballarat Magistrates Court on Thursday where he pleaded guilty to two meat thefts on October 30 last year.
Bartley was jailed for two months in February this year over charges of theft which also related to stealing meat from supermarkets, the court heard.
Police prosecutor Senior Constable Clint Prebble said Bartley and a co-accused went to the Coles supermarket in Peel Street on October 30 last year and selected several meat trays before leaving without paying.
Later that day, Bartley put two meat trays up his jumper, again leaving Coles without paying.
Magistrate Michelle Hodgson fined Bartley $500.
