The Scrap Metal Lady Devils will play South Yarra in round three of the Football Federation Victoria-sanctioned competition at Morshead Park on Saturday afternoon.
The 1-1 draw against Berwick City in the second round saw drastic improvements in the young side, which benefited enormously from the return of star striker Lulu Al Huneidi.
Captain Holly Williamson led from the front and looks set to line-up this week, despite initial fears of a hip injury.
Meanwhile Erin Plucke will be given every opportunity to prove her fitness following an ankle injury but still has to wait for the all clear from her physio to be a certainty.
Coach Rick Romein has praised the character of his young squad after the first two weeks of play.
"Given the circumstances our young girls are very competitive and have been fantastic," Romein said.
Ballarat opened its season with a 5-0 drubbing at the hands of Doncaster but looked much more comfortable with the rigours of state league 1 football in their second match.
Both sides enter the match with one loss and one draw, with Berwick sixth on the ladder while the Lady Devils sit in eighth spot.
