Peoples shot well clear at the top of the competition goal-kicking charts with a staggering 23 majors, which has been confirmed at the very least as a Blues' club record.
His mammoth tally takes his season total to 44 from just five games and lifts his side to 10th on the ladder moving into an important encounter with Creswick next weekend.
Elsewhere, Daylesford broke a two-match losing streak against Creswick with a 13-point win on home soil.
The Bulldogs held control of the contest all afternoon, kicking away to a lead of almost 40 points early in the last quarter only for the Wickers to charge home with the final four goals of the game.
Seb Walsh was the difference between the two sides in attack, with the Daylesford youngster finishing with four goals in a display that included set shots and a couple of clever snaps. Patrick Rowe was influential on a wing, booting three, while Trent Nesbitt was good in the middle and in attack in his return from injury. He also kicked two goals.
For the Wickers, Tom Cooper, Gary Knights and Liam Hepworth tried hard in an even team performance.
Buninyong escaped a massive scare, sneaking home over an in-form Carngham-Linton by five points, Hepburn overturned last year's upset loss to Clunes, winning by 10 goals and Springbank bounced back with a 42-point victory against Dunnstown.
In other games, Bungaree continued Skipton's woes, thumping the Emus by 125 points, Learmonth remained unbeaten, dispatching Rokewood-Corindhap by 94 points, Beaufort beat Newlyn by 17 points and Waubra got over Gordon in a thriller by a solitary behind.
