Police have confirmed a fatal house fire south of Ararat is not being treated suspicious.
While the deceased is yet to be identified it is believed to be a 47-year-old Maroona man.
Police were called to the fire in Maroona around 9pm on Saturday night.
While extinguishing the fire, CFA members located a body inside.
Police will repair a report for the coroner.

Fire crews had three call-outs overnight to small fires within Ballarat.
The fires were caused by residents burning off piles of leaves and small bushes.

Nothing of interest to report from local paramedics.
