Deinstitutionalisation exhibition

WHEN: Open daily until July 29.

WHERE: Ararat Regional Art Gallery, Town Hall, Vincent Street, Ararat.

DETAILS: A photographic series by Yask Desai, which focuses on the Aradale Asylum, a former psychiatric hospital in Ararat. Aradale was first commissioned in 1865 and remained operational for more than 120 years. It provides one of the last glimpses into an era of medicine in which considerable amounts of money was spent to construct and run purpose built facilities for residential psychiatric care. The Australian Rolling Stones Tribute Show

WHEN: Saturday, at 7pm.

WHERE: Ballarat Golf Club, 1800 Sturt Street, Ballarat.

DETAILS: Performed by one of Australia's premiere rock tribute bands, the show is dedicated to the "world's greatest rock'n'roll band". Delivering the highest entertainment standards and an authentic musical snap shot into a window of time when the Rolling Stones reigned over the music world, with all the live energy of the 1960s & 1970s with songs like Paint it Black, Get Off My Cloud, Satisfaction and more. Jazz afternoon

Caroline Chisholm Society fundraiser

DETAILS: Come for an Autumn luncheon and help raise funds for the Caroline Chisholm Society's work for mums, bubs and pre-schoolers. Two course light luncheon with guest speaker, society's CEO Helen Cooney. Afternoon tea will follow a talk on Caroline Chisholm - the woman by Clara Geoghegan. Inspiration Night

DETAILS: Get along to Inspiring Ballarat's first Inspiration Night - one of hundreds of nationwide events celebrating Inspiring Australia Day. The purpose of the night is to inspire others, create connections and community and to network. Hear four 10-minute Ted-style talks by amazing local people in our community, including Kristy Steenhuis, Ayesha Hilton, Norm Suckling and Andrew Ferguson.
