Almost $13,500 was raised through term one at bake sales, barbecues, movie days, water bomb competitions, guess the lolly jar and a staff auction.
College captains Jack Cuttler and Demcee Davies presented an oversized cheque to Caritas Ballarat diocesan director Susan Searls.
“We want to make an impact,” Jack said.
It was the largest sum of money donated by Damascus since it began.
“It’s opened our eyes to see a bigger picture of the world and a greater sense of justice,” Demcee said.
“It’s the highest we’ve raised and it’s because we’ve all got in and donated.”
Ms Searls said the funding would be used to help Asian and Latin countries.
“It will be used for programs for the poorest of the poor and will serve a community,” she said.
“We assist these communities by support and education and they do the work.”
