June 16, 2014. Gotta Cellarbrate wins a maiden at Mildura.
Like his half-brothers Gotta Keep Cool and Gotta Take Care, Gotta Cellarbrate is trained by Ballarat's Darren Weir and one can only wonder where the three-year-old's future will take him.
The Reset gelding did not set the racing world on fire in his first three starts, finishing well back initially in one outing in July last year and then on his resumption.
He must have had a pep talk from big brother Gotta Take Care in the lead up to the Mildura assignment on Monday going by the way he scored over the longer trip of 1800m - coming from the tail of the nine-horse field with 800m to go and seventh at the 400m mark to score by more than a length.
All three "Gottas" are out of Cellar Dwellar, a mare which won five times in the care of Weir.
What a journey it has been so far.
With Gotta Take Care still at the top of his game despite being nine years of age and Gotta Cellarbrate just starting out, there is plenty more to come.
