The stage adaption of the Disney classic will include everyone’s favourite and not-so-favourite characters including Aladdin, Jasmine, Jafar and the Genie.
More than 70 students from years eight to 11 will perform in the production, as well as pupils from the college’s Redan campus.
Aladdin Jr director Deanne Joosten said the musical had been on the school’s to-do list for quite a while.
“We were always interested in doing it and our thought was that it would suit this group of students,” she said.
“It’s a musical that they’re all very familiar with and all the students have seen the movie before, so it’s something that got them very excited.
“I think the story has some really strong characters and the students are having quite a lot of fun with them.”
It will be the second time the college has staged its production at Her Majesty’s Theatre, having performed Seussical there last year.
“Last year we had a full singing musical but this one has a lot more dialogue, so it’s good to do something different,” Ms Joosten said.
“The students have really worked hard and we’re at the point where we’re ready to take it to the theatre and to the next level.”
