Headlining the evening is the clash between newly-branded Australian soccer club Melbourne City, which will travel for a friendly with the Ballarat Red Devils.
The Ballarat Regional Soccer Facility will host the clash, which will be City's - formerly the Heart - first in new club colours.
The game is set to kick-off at 7pm.
Over the back fence, the Ballarat Greyhound Racing Club will host a 12-race card in its regular Wednesday night timeslot.
The first race for the night is scheduled for 6.58pm, with the last to jump at 10.37pm.
Meanwhile, Ballarat Clarendon College will take on Catholic College Sale in the second semi final of the AFL Victoria Herald Sun Country Shield today.
The game begins at 12.30pm in Craigieburn.
In World Cup news overnight, Uruguay put an end to Italy's dreams of progressing with a 1-0 victory, Costa Rica and England drew 0-0, Colombia trounced Japan 4-1 and Greece prevailed against Ivory Coast 2-1.
Also overseas, Lleyton Hewitt opened his Wimbledon campaign with a four-set win over Poland's Michal Przysiezny.
The 2002 champion moved into the second round with a 6-2, 6-7 (16-14), 6-1, 6-4 victory.
