Samantha Lees, of Ballarat Clarendon College; Lucas Hammond, of Phoenix P-12 Community College; and Zak Biggin, of Beaufort Secondary College, will compete at the event.
The three-day event will showcase the skills of Australia’s best trainees,
apprentices and students. Highlands LLEN VETiS Cluster co-ordinator Stacey Gill said the VET programs appealed to a wide range of students.
“Not all students want to go to university. This way they can get their pre-apprenticeship while still studying their secondary schooling.”
Ms Lees said the trio would depart on September 17.
“I just thought it would be a great experience to show off some of the skills I have,” she said.
“I love doing agriculture.
“I have a passion for it and wanted to excel.”
