On Sunday, Mr Craven will conduct a melody from the same musical performed by the Saint Cecilia Singers’ at the Ballaarat Mechanics Institute.
The two-hour Broadway Babies of the 80s performance will feature songs from prominent musicals, including Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, Little Shop of Horrors and Sweeney Todd.
Mr Craven said the 20-person choir would perform with a group of soloists taught by Ballarat singing teacher Carolyn Bennett.
“We will be performing some of the greatest songs from the 80s,” he said.
“We have been rehearsing for six to seven months and we’ve almost got it right.”
It is one of the three shows performed by the choir group in Ballarat each year.
“People will come from everywhere to watch the show,” Mr Craven said.
Tickets are available on the day, with walk-ins welcome.
