The Mount Egerton youngster claimed gold in a 28kg full-contact division at the Federation of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Australian Champions Cup at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre.
He took out the final by advantage.
Cove qualified for the nationals by winning a state title in April.
An orange blackbelt, he has been practicing Jiu Jitsu since he was five travelling down the Western Freeway to Melton to train with Meta Morphica Mixed Martial Arts.
The Gordon St Patrick's Primary School pupil's younger sisters Charlotte, 6, and Ashleigh, 4, also compete in the sport .
