The P.O Box Designs owners have streamlined their Delacombe business to create a showroom, complete with a cafe, in Ballarat’s central business district.
The revamped Peel Street North store opened its doors on Monday and attracted about 70 people to the cafe.
Mr Jess said the in-house cafe idea would appeal to Melbourne and interstate customers.
“We have people travelling a long way to see us,” Mr Jess said.
“Clients are coming up from Geelong, Melbourne, Warrnambool and Bendigo.”
A specialty P.O Box Designs blend of coffee will be available for customers.
“A Melbourne friend of mine was doing some work for a coffee company,” Mr Jess said.
“A friend came up with the blend for us to supply and market.”
Mr Jess and Ms Stevens spent the last month renovating the interior of the store.
P.O Box Designs sells letterboxes, custom signs, gates, fences and mirror ornaments.
Mr Jess said he was excited about the new business
venture.
“It was a great opportunity to have something more to offer to customers,” he said.
“We have people coming in who don’t know about our product, but are having a coffee in our cafe.”
