The star onballer is set to vacate Tigerland after being appointed to the helm of the North Central Football League club.
Fisher makes the move after three seasons and 49 senior games in yellow and black, but leaves following a disappointing grand final defeat to Bungaree, where he had little involvement due to a hamstring strain early in the match.
Despite the disappointment, Fisher's 2014 campaign was a standout. He clinched a second CHFL team of the year honour before landing a runaway victory in the league best and fairest count.
Springbank president Anthony Simpson told The Courier Fisher had done a lot of work in changing the culture of the club and in educating some junior footballers that are now regular senior players.
"We owe Luke a lot of thanks for what he has done for us," Simpson said.
"He was part of setting the club on a new course and we wish him all the best in what he chooses to do."
Fisher joins a Donald side that finished season 2014 on the bottom of the ladder after going winless from the 16 home and away rounds.
The speedy midfielder is a two-time senior best and fairest winner, with his first coming as an 18-year-old in the Mininera and District competition while playing for SMW Rovers. He has also played for Ballarat Swans and Nightcliff in the Northern Territory Football League.
Meanwhile, the GJ Gardner Tigers are yet to appoint a replacement for senior coach Sam Giblett.
Giblett stood down after three years in the role following the Tigers' grand final defeat at the hands of Bungaree.
Simpson confirmed retired North Ballarat Roosters captain Michael Searl was not in the running for the top job.
"We still have three people on the go and Michael Searl is not one of them," Simpson said.
Simpson expected an appointment inside the next couple of weeks.
