"It's all about being part of it," Martin said.
Martin said with rowers from around the world competing, there was no way of gauging form.
The Wendouree-Ballarat Rowing Club member will be one of the first rowers on the lake in the four-day regatta, which begins today.
She is part of a compositive women's category A (minimum age 27 years) four, lining up against a Brazillian and three other Australian crews at 9am.
Martin will combine with Tamsin Brew from North Shore, Tanja Nishibata (Melbourne) and Jacqui Hope (Lindisfarne).
Martin said she had a "relaxed" lead-up to the worlds. She said she had not spent a lot of time training on the water owing to holidays, but was well rested and ready to produce her best.
A multiple gold medallist at the national masters championships in Adelaide earlier this year, Martin will compete in four events in what is her first world rowing masters.
The championships have attracted rowers from 28 countries, as old as 88 years.
