The four-year-old entire claimed a second-straight group 1 win by beating Speediness and Desert Jeuney in the $400,000 time-honoured event.
That win was his 10th in a career spanning just 17 starts.
"What a ride and what a great horse to train," Weir said after the race.
"He is sound, tough and makes his own luck. He is the perfect sort of horse that trainers are looking for.
"It's great for everyone involved, all the staff at home who work hard and they are a great bunch of owners."
Trust In A Gust provided Weir with his first Victorian win at the elite level when he snuck home in the Sir Rupert Clarke Charity Cup, 1400m, at the same track two weeks ago.
"It took us a long time to win a group 1 and we have got a couple now with a great little horse," Weir said.
Weir hinted that the Emirates Stakes, 1600m, is on the agenda during the final day of the Flemington carnival.
