On Saturday his wish was granted and the 17-year-old visited the Ballarat Show for the first time.
Cory was born with neurofibromatosis type 1, or NF-1 a disease that causes tumours along the nervous system.
With no cure, the disease can cause mobility issues, debilitating pain and organ malfunction.
So a visit to the Ballarat Show wasn't an easy task, but Cory again proved his bravery to the community and to other children suffering from the rare disease.
Currently residing at Gandarra Palliative Care Unit, Cory spent the last two weeks counting down until the weekend, when he finally had the chance to spend a few hours soaking up the excitement of the Ballarat Show.
"I'm looking forward to the games and the showbags," he said.
The Horsham-born teenager has spent the past year sharing his experience and helping to raise awareness of the disease.
He has also helped raise thousands of dollars for the Royal Children's Hospital and for children of the future who also suffer from the debilitating illness.
