OF MICK Price's two horses in the $100,000 3YO Eureka Stockade, 1400m, never did he expect Making Mayhem to win.

However, it was the three-year-old that hung on by a length over the barnstorming Profit Share and Durendal to score a double for jockey Chad Schofield in race five.
That is not to say the Caulfield trainer did not have faith in Making Mayhem ($19.90) in his fourth start.
The lure of $60,000 for first place for VOBIS Gold qualified horses and a SUPER VOBIS owners' bonus of $23,000 was more than enough incentive for owner Betty Hoare to enter two horses in the race (Making Mayhem and Devon Princess).
"It's a great opportunity with a horse like Making Mayhem to make super prize money," Kent said.
Price said he would now eye a move to the metropolitan races for Making Mayhem, while Devon Princess would be brought back to 1200m-1300m.
"I wouldn't give up on him going to town and being a 3YO metropolitan horse, for sure, it's probably where he's got to go now anyway after winning this," he said.
"He's a lovely, sound horse and he will get a mile and he's on the right track."
For last-placed Devon Princess, however, it has run its last 1400m race.
"What do you do? You have to run them in these VOBIS Gold races, these massive prize money races," Price said.
"It's a fantastic reason to be in Victoria racing horses...I should own one myself."
Darren Weir-trained Profit Share hit the line hard but ultimately came from too far back in the home straight.
