BALLARAT'S Angus Lyons secured a top 10 finish in the Mars Cycling Australia Road National Championships under-23 men's time trial at Buninyong on Thursday.

Lyons finished eighth, averaging 50.6kmh.
He covered the out-and-back 29.3km circuit in 40 minutes, 25.36 seconds.
The gold went to South Australian Miles Scotson, who averaged a sensational 53.6kmh to clock 38:36.60.
Scotson, who was the bronze medallist last year, joins the likes of Jack Bobridge, Rohan Dennis and Luke Durbridge as the champion.
Victoria Oscar Stevenson (38.40.98 - 52.1kmh) was second and Harry Carpenter from South Australia (39.47.05 - 51.9kmh) was third.
Fourth-placed Jaig Haig also broke the four-minute mark.
