The Highlanders lost qualifying finals in both divisions on Thursday, with the under-14s remaining winless following a 28-run loss to North West Wizards at Cross Keys Reserve in Essendon, while the under-16s suffered a two-wicket defeat at the hands of the Wizards at Windy Hill, also in Essendon.

Standout performances included a knock of 47 from Matthew Milne in the under-16s and an innings of 41 from Joel Cadman in the under-14s.
