Ballarat Symphony Orchestra and folk band Month of Sundays drew the curtain on the Summer Sundays series at the Ballarat Botanical Gardens.
Councillor Peter Innes said the event, which drew collective crowds of 4500 over the four dates in January, was a huge success.
“The Ballarat community has to be applauded for their support, because without them there would not be an event,” he said.
Since its inception in the 1990s, the event has been continually reinvented, but its family-oriented focus has remained strong, according to City of Ballarat events officer Heidi Zukauskas.
She said a move from Lake Wendouree to the more comfortable surrounds of the botanical gardens was important for the development of the event.
Young children dancing on the lawn with their parents has characterised the event over recent weeks, which has supported local and regional talent.
Summer Sundays visitors have been treated to folk, pop, blues, jazz and cabaret, and the organisers are hoping for more of the same next year.
