In fact it’s one of their favourite venues in Australia and they’re excited to come back to perform on Saturday.
“We often play in large halls where there is no intimacy, but the space at the gallery is ideal for guitars,” one half of the Grigoryan Brothers, Slava, said.
“It is the sort of room the guitar is designed for.”
The guitar duo will bring with them on Saturday music from their latest album, This Time, released in Australia in December.
Salva said fans can expect a night of music encompassing a broad spectrum of musical styles, something the brothers have become renowned for over the years.
“The most part of our music is the classical influence, that’s how we learnt music. But being guitarists we were always infl uenced by other styles, whether it’s folk, blues or rock,” he said.
“But for us the biggest non-classical influence is improvisation.
“That’s something we like to encompass in all of our concerts.
“Although we stick by strictly classical styles, we partner it with stuff that’s more familiar.”
This Time was a result of many collaborations by some of Australia’s best known composers, with a number of songs written by friends of the brothers from around the world.
