IN support of John Barnes' letter, (The Courier, April 11), yes it is time for either the council CEO to move on or we have a proper investigation by the state government into the lopsided running of Ballarat City Council.

There was a government investigation into the council some time back, but it did not go anywhere near far enough.
We were still left with elements that had been privy to the Civic Hall fiddle.
Besides the problems that John Barnes quoted, there was the council offices saga for the Civic Hall site; there is also a problem with the council wanting to take over the Railway Precinct to the detriment of public transport users when all that area will be needed for public transport use in the future.
To add more reason for change, we have the Black Hill pool disaster, the EPA intervention to have garbage disposal done correctly, and other situations too numerous to mention plus ratepayers are fast losing confidence in the council to do the job properly.
