Turner, one of the Central Highlands Football League’s premier midfielders, missed last weekend’s win over Daylesford with a shoulder injury he sustained in the round one victory against Learmonth.
While not named as one of two changes to the side that beat the Bulldogs, Bombers joint coach Jarrod Morgan said Turner trained fully on Thursday night and would be reassessed on Friday.
“We are not going to risk him. If (the shoulder) is no good, it’s no good,” Morgan said.
Buninyong was destroyed in this Anzac Day fixture last year, but will have the chance to rewrite those wrongs on home soil on Saturday.
Morgan confirmed swingman Adam Scott would return from a back issue, while forward Billie Leskosek has been called up for his
first senior match since returning to the club during the pre-season.
Defender Kenny Terry is out with a calf problem and fringe player Josh Mann is back to the twos.
Springbank is looking to bounce back from a surprise loss to Beaufort.
The GJ Gardner Tigers were without key tall Michael Searl for the clash with the Crows, but he has overcome a quadriceps problem and is one of four inclusions to the side.
Classy backman Tim Malone returns from a hand issue, small forward Joel Dodd is in for his fist game since returning to the club and utility Brandon Rix is also back for his first taste of senior football in 2015.
Springbank coach Terry Simpson said his team was hungry to bounce back to winning form.
“I’m sure they’ll be confident we can get the job done,” Simpson said. “Buninyong has showed over last few years they are a quality side and certainly got a lot of quality players, so we’ve just got to be better.”
PREDICTION: Buninyong by 12 points.
