This Friday, renowned ride-sharing service Uber will embrace the chill by delivering ice cream to select Ballarat residents.
The initiative will see Ballarat become one of the first locations to enjoy the service deployed in 380 cities across 45 countries and six continents.
The ice cream is sourced from Gelato Messina and features hazelnut gelato with white chocolate, hazelnut fudge, milk choc chips and wafers.
Residents can access the supply by targeting drivers through the Uber application on their smart phone.
First time users and those with a promotion code get a run for free, while existing users will be hit $15 per trip.
A statement from Uber said Ballarat was targeted for the exercise based on the number of residents who had the app.
“We know hundreds of people have have downloaded the Uber app in Ballarat, so we wanted to give local residents a sweet taste of what Uber has to offer their city,” the statement said.
