Lawn, fielding a full-strength team on its home courts, was far too strong for the struggling Hollioake Park Black on Saturday.
The competition's leading male, Ash Hayward, showed again what a talented serve-volleyer he is, knocking over Courtney Walsh, while wily veteran Peter Keller and Mark Simpson had too much grass court experience for their younger opponents.
Number four man, Brett Hayward, also made a welcome return to form for Lawn.
For Hollioake Park Black, leading female Raquel Murdoch was at her consistent best, while number two lady Shae Drew seems to lift a cog when Raquel is in the side, performing well.
Across at Southern Indoor, the team continued its run of good form by knocking Ballarat Indoor Red out of third place. Again, it was the in-form Shannon Dilges and Simon Broecker who lay the foundations for the win, with number two lady Laura Edwards.
Number one man Jason Brailey also bounced back, upsetting Tim Canny in a tight struggle.
For Indoor Red, Kirsty Benoit recorded a solid win over the improving Jena Mooney. Kirsty and Tim Canny are proving to be the competition's leading mixed combination and baseliner Mick Canny continues to be an even contributor for the young team.
Ballarat Indoor Gold showed a win is just around the corner, pushing Hollioake Park Red before going down. For Hollioake Park Red, Ryan Waight was in great touch crushing Hugh Millikan. Number three and four men Jamie Muller and Mark Grigg continued their outstanding seasons, doing just enough to get Red over the line.
For Indoor Gold, Sam Gilbert showed she's back in good touch, picking up three sets, while talented youngster Julia McKnight provided good support. Number one man Brenton Simpson proved his upset win last week was no fluke, being too consistent for Tom Bice.
