BALLARAT Eureka Strikers and University of Melbourne missed opportunities in Football Federation Victoria women's state league one on Sunday.
And at the same team they also dodged a bullet.
Each played draws in a catch-up round to remain one-point apart of the top of the table.
Second-placed Strikers finished one-all with Yarra Jets (fifth), while Brighton (seventh) surprised Uni of Melbourne with the same scoreline.
Had Strikers managed to get the three points, it would have moved to the top.
In contrast, Uni of Melbourne would have all but sealed the league title with two games remaining had it picked up maximum points.
So while missing a chance to take the leadership, Ballarat was also fortunate not to fall away in the championship race.
