Super pooch Shylo can be seen waiting obediently by the Pleasant Street Primary School gate, unmissable in his fluro supervisor uniform.
Crossing lady and Shylo’s partner-in-crime, Norma McLean says he will not be retiring until she does.
Ms McLean has helped kids from Pleasant Street Primary School cross safely for 10 years.
For the best part of that decade she has been joined by her Maltese Shitzu cross terrier
“Shylo has been coming to school with me for six years, since he was eight weeks old,” Ms McLean said.
“He is part of the school and the kids love him.”
That was confirmed, when four pupils ran up to give the adorable supervisor a hug.
“His very fluffy and cute,” Zara Ellis said.
Pupil Matilda Myers was particularly fond of Shylo’s uniform.
“He looks very cute in his little jacket and he is very friendly,” Matilda said.
Shylo, who was rugged up in a little green and blue jumper under his vest, was given the uniform by a parent.
“A mum gave me the vest so Shylo could have his own uniform and I sewed on the supervisor logo,” Ms McLean said.
“There is a hardly child that doesn’t give him a pat.”
And when it’s school holiday time, Shylo notices the lack of attention.
Ms McLean said he could not wait to come back to school.
“I started bringing him because my grandchildren grew-up and he wasn’t meeting a lot of kids – so it was a good social opportunity.”
Shylo may love his job, but he doesn’t give his precious time away for free.
“At the end of the day he jumps up on the stool, claps his paws together and gets a treat,” Ms McLean said.
Being cute must be pretty hard work.
