We all remember the grand final against Sunbury in 2013 when North City players immediately swapped jumpers as soon as the final siren sounded, opting to be captured in their traditional black and white guernsey.
Since they are again facing opposition with similar colours, the reigning premiers will be forced to adopt their grey strip, which sports the North Ballarat Roosters VFL logo. Conditions on North Ballarat City’s jumpers were placed on the side when it entered the league in 2008.
Ballarat Football League rules stipulate they must wear their alternate strip for all matches against Darley and Bacchus Marsh and away games against Melton South and Sunbury.
I think it’s safe to assume they will change their jumpers if they win another premiership, but one has to wonder what will happen should the result fall the other way. We will just have to wait and see.
