More than 20 people crammed around the family television to watch their beloved Hawks win a third consecutive premiership and there was no holding back on the cheers as the final siren rang.
It was the eighteenth year Wendouree’s Shane Henderson has held a grand final event at his property and this year’s win was the icing on the cake for the Hawthorn supporter.
Never underestimating West Coast’s game, Mr Henderson who has been a Hawthorn support his entire life, said it wasn’t until the final quarter they knew a win was inevitable. Asked if he believed the Hawks can come away with a fourth premiership, Mr Henderson said he couldn’t see why not.
“I reckon they could if they have the players to do it … there is no stand out team at the moment,” he said.
Hawthorn defeated West Coast by 46 points.
