McConnell has confirmed the luring of a number of other key recruits as the Blues look to better their preliminary final appearance of last year.
Joining the Central Highlands Football League club in 2016 is former Keilor midfielder Darren Tanti and Geelong Amateur pair Adam Kurzman and Luke Souter.
Kurzman was captain at North Gambier during two of the club’s premierships under McConnell’s reign and played in Geelong Amateur’s Bellarine league flag last season.
He is another onball option for the Blues, while Souter, who was sidelined through injury for much of 2015, is described as a half-back who can also go through the midfield.
That trio looms as great signings for the Blues, which landed McNamara as their headline act.
Ballan opens its new season with a home clash against Creswick on Saturday, April 9.
