The former Ballarat boy, who made a whirlwind A-League debut in Victory’s 4-0 triumph against ladder-leaders Brisbane Roar earlier this month, is part of the 18-strong line-up, which will be trimmed ahead of the clash at Etihad Stadium.
Nigro is looking to make his second appearance on the pitch for Victory, for which he has played off the bench without game time twice this season.
In a boost for Nigro’s hopes, the club’s website says Olyroos defenders Jason Geria and Scott Galloway are “highly unlikely” to return to the team on Tuesday after playing in the AFC U-23 Championship in Qatar. However, Daniel Georgievski is available after serving suspension and is one of the chances to oust Nigro from his spot.
Victory is looking to continue its strong record against Sydney FC, which hasn’t defeated its Melbourne-based rivals in the last eight encounters.
