Creative Ballarat chefs Sara Kittelty and Suzi Fitzpatrick have joined forces, under catering business S Express, to entertain visitors at the tea house for three days.
Ms Fitzpatrick said visitors could enjoy a delicious high tea with a whimsical twist, including sweets like a black velvet cake with liquorice icing, pistachio marshmallow cake and pommergrante tree cordial.
“It will be a high tea but instead of being traditional English, we will give it a twist and make it quirky,” Ms Fitzpatrick said.
“The front-of-house staff will be in Alice in Wonderland character.”
The tea house will feature music, dance and poetry. People will be able to purchase a picnic packed with local produce and enjoy it on the lawn next to the tea house.
The Ballarat Begonia Festival will be held over the Labour Day long weekend between March 12 and 14.
