The Highlanders are set to welcome Geelong and District to town for the AFL Victoria Community Championships clash, which is scheduled for May 21.
It will be the second time Bungaree has hosted a Central Highlands fixture since the league’s return to senior representative competition. The Highlanders took on Loddon Valley there in 2014.
Central Highlands Football League administrator Diane Ryan confirmed the booking at Bungaree and revealed there would be an under-18 football curtain-raiser played between the leagues before the senior match. Netball is also expected to be part of the day’s action.
Former Hepburn coach Clive Raak has taken over at the helm of the senior side, which was guided to victory by Greg Middleton for the past two seasons.
Meanwhile, the Ballarat league will take on Western Region after originally being set to clash with Goulburn Valley. This follows a shake-up to the old country championships structure.
