The competition will see 28 competitors strut their stuff in seven different categories, including Miss Ink-spired where tattooed contestants wear swimwear to show off their ink.Ballarat’s Ink Evolution Tattoo Studio owner and pinup competition judge Shannon Khann said he would be looking for good basics when judging the Miss Ink-inspired category.
“I will be looking for strong lines and strong shadows. The fundamentals are what you are after when you judge something like this,” Mr Khann said.
The festival will be held in Lydiard Street North from February 11 to 14, with the pinup competition held on the Saturday from 2pm. Other key events include the Valentine’s Day prom to be held at the Mining Exchange in Lydiard Street from 7pm on Sunday night.
