Her cats and dogs, like five-month-old Bailey pictured above, are chipped, desexed and vaccinated, so Saturday’s stall in PETstock for Pet Adoption Day was a good chance to educate people on rescue dogs, even if they couldn’t walk away with a pooch then and there.
“We’ve told a lot of people about rescue, about why you should adopt not shop,” she said.
Several people came in asking for dogs on Saturday, but Ms Harris’ organisation Best Mate Rescue and Rehoming has a rigorous process to ensure dogs and owners are the right fit.
Little Bailey had a lest one serious suitor.
